Google Reader is going under

On 1st July 2013, Google Reader is no more. Google Reader is part of Google A second spring of cleaning. I suppose, it is only a matter of time before it is shut down. There have been no or few updates to the application in years. It has matured, so there is nothing left to do. There is also the fact that, there is no monetization on Google Reader, which is bad for Google, because it is very popular and surely takes a lot of bandwidth. Bandwidth that Google have to pay for. So, from a company stand point, it is time to shut ii down.

I have been thinking about creating my own RSS Feed Reader for some time, just never found the time and effort into it. Well, there are alternatives. Feedly is pretty good. It works on mobile and desktop devices. Flipboard is also good if you have iOS or Android devices. There are also many other options you can try to see which one suits you best.

I am migrating away  from Google Reader into Feedly for now. Now is a good time to restart thinking and execution on RSS Feed Reader I have planned…
